The women’s basketball team earned their second straight win yesterday, defeating Providence by a score of 57-53. Although it initially looked like the Eagles were going to run away with a win last night, Providence made things interesting in the second half, even pulling ahead at one point. BC will need to work on maintaining their leads, as they have had a problem with allowing double-digit leads to slip away from them.
BC looked much better in the first quarter of this game than they have all season, so while there is still a lot of work to do, it does appear that the team and coaches are working on problems in practice instead of making excuses.
Mariella Fasoula and Kelly Hughes continue to carry the team offensively, scoring 18 and 19 points respectively. Georgia Pineau is also showing promise, with 7 points and 7 rebounds in yesterday’s game. Additionally, Kailey Edwards, who made 4 baskets and 3 free throws last night, scored her 1,000 career point against Providence.
The Eagles return to action on December 18 at 4 PM at Conte to face Central Connecticut State. If you bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots you will be given free admission to the game.
