The women’s basketball team fell to Penn State by a score of 60-56 last night in a back and forth game. Both teams let go of sizable leads and allowed the other team to go on runs of unanswered scoring. The Eagles ultimately lost the game, despite leading late in the 4th.
Although the Eagles continue to struggle, there were some good things to take away from yesterday’s game. BC showed significant improvement from the free throw line, going 7-for-9 in the game - unfortunately the 2 missed free throws came at the end of the game and led to Penn State regaining the lead. The Eagles also managed to come back and keep the game close after going down early.
As we’ve seen in most games this season, most of BC’s offense came from Kelly Hughes and Mariella Fasoula. Fasoula scored 29 points and Hughes recorded 16, including 2 3-pointers. The other Eagles that scored were Georgia Pineau (6 pts), Kailey Edwards (4 pts), Emilee Daley (5 pts), and Katie Quandt (2 pts). While it is great to see Fasoula and Hughes doing well, their teammates will need to provide more offense if they want to start winning.
BC returns to action on Sunday at 2 PM when they take on Fordham in NYC.
