It was announced today that Michael Karow has committed to play hockey at Boston College. Karow is a 6'2" defender that currently plays in the USHL.

Karow has played 14 games for the Youngstown Phantoms this season and has 5 assists so far. He currently leads defensemen on his team in points.

Karow had 4 goals a 15 assists last season for Notre Dame Academy, including one of each in the postseason. He is known for being a reliable defender that can also set up some nice offensive plays.

When announcing his commitment, Karow stated that he chose Boston College because it "has the best combination of hockey and academics."

BC currently has three players on the roster that are alumni of the Youngstown Phantoms: Luke McInnis, Connor Moore, and Austin Cangelosi.

The majority of the commitments that BC hockey has right now are from forwards, so it is good to see them picking up a defender.
