Boston College Men’s Soccer: Eagles Knock Out No. 4 North Carolina, Advance To Semifinal

The Gavel

Zeiko Lewis continues to come up big for the Boston College Eagles, as his third goal of the ACC Tournament was all the Eagles needed to defeat No. 4 in the country, and the No. 1 seed in the tournament, North Carolina to win their quarterfinal matchup in Chapel Hill, N.C. and advance to the ACC semifinal.

Lewis, who has scored six goals and five assists through Sunday afternoon’s contest, scored in the 58th minute, giving the Eagles the lead that they did not relinquish.

For Cedric Saladin, the shutout was his sixth of the year, and he improves to a record of eight wins, seven losses and three ties on the year.

The Eagles will travel to Clemson Wednesday, Nov. 9, as the No. 4 seeded Tigers defeated the No. 5 seeded Syracuse Orange in penalty kicks Sunday afternoon. The Eagles tied the Tigers 0-0 the last time the two teams met on Oct. 14.
