FINAL: Louisville Crushes Boston College 52-7

It was not a good day for BC football.

It was an ugly day for Boston College all around, as the Eagles struggled to stay on the field offensively, and did little to stop an explosive Louisville offense, falling 52-7 at Alumni Stadium.

Things started poorly, as Cardinal Heisman hopeful Lamar Jackson took off for a 69-yard touchdown run on the game's third play from scrimmage, and he would continue to pour it on all afternoon. The sophomore signal caller finished the day with seven combined touchdowns (4 passing, 3 rushing), and 416 combined yards (231 passing, 185 rushing) to advance his promising Heisman campaign.

On top of Jackson's great day, the Eagles did themselves no favors with three turnovers (2 fumbles and an interception) and five penalties. BC finally got on the board in the third quarter while trailing 38-0 when Jackson fumbled while making a cut away from Kevin Kavalec, and Connor Strachan recovered. That set up a 39-yard screen pass touchdown from Towles to Tyler Rouse, but Louisville answered with two more Jackson touchdown runs to close the door emphatically.

Things won't get much easier next week as the Eagles hit the road to face another nationally ranked foe, Florida State.
