BC hockey has released an update on Coach York, who has missed the past 3 games due to eye surgery. York underwent a successful procedure on October 25 and is working on his recovery. The Eagles expect him back behind the bench "very soon." He will not be making the trip to Maine this weekend however.
This is the second year that York has missed games due to eye surgery. He missed time in 2013 due to a detached retina.
Coach Greg Brown has been leading the Eagles in York's absence. Brown lead the Eagles to a tie at Merrimack and wins against Providence and UMass. He will continue to fill in for Coach York this weekend as BC heads to Maine to take on the Black Bears. BC plays in Portland on Friday night and in Orono on Saturday. Coach Brown will be an assistant coach for Team USA in the 2017 WJC in late December / early January, so it is good to hear that York should return before then.
Best wishes to Coach York as he continues to recover!
