On Wednesday, the Boston College softball team announced the five players that will make up the class of 2021, arriving in the fall of 2017. They are: CC Cook, Jenna Ergle, Emme Martinez, Gianna Randazza, and Cami Sellers.
CC Cook is a RPH/1B from Phoenix, Arizona. Cook led Division 1 with a 0.85 ERA and 237 strikeouts as a junior last season. She is a two-time all-state honoree. Last March, Cook pitched a perfect game for the Pinnacle Pioneers.
Jenna Ergle is a 3B/1B from Sumiton, Alabama. Ergle has a .525 batting average over her past two varsity seasons. She is a two-time ASHAA Divisional Player of the Year and three-time Hitter of the Year. She is also a three-time first-team all-state performer. Ergle has led Alabama in RBIs over the past 3 seasons and in 2016 she was invited to USA Softball's Select Elite program.
Emme Martinez is a C/3B from Hemet, California. She earned All-Garden Grove League honors as a freshman and sophomore, and was the 2014 Garden Grove Freshman of the Year and 2015 conference MVP. Martinez earned offensive player of the year honors as a junior.
Gianna Randazza is a 1B/RF from Clark, New Jersey. She earned first-team all-state honors as a junior and has been an all-county and all-conference honoree three seasons in a row. Randazza was also the county shot put champion as a sophomore.
Cami Sellers is a 1B/3B from Los Alamitos, California. Sellers was first-team All-Sunset League in 2015 and 2016 and helped her team to become Sunset League champions both years. Sellers described herself to Flo Softball as "a lefty power hitter."
