The Eagles dropped a double OT game to Virginia Tech this afternoon, falling to 10-4-1 on the season. The Hokies and the Eagles ended the game with 9 shots on goal each.
Virginia Tech started the scoring at the 28 minute mark and there would not be another goal until the 61st minute, when McKenzie Meehan scored on a penalty kick. BC went up 2-1 just 22 seconds after their first goal off of another penalty kick, this time scored by freshman Samantha Hiatt. The penalty kick was Hiatt's first collegiate goal.
The Hokies tied the game up at minute 75, and the neither team was able to score during first intermission. Despite outshooting the Hokies in OT, the Eagles were unable to convert and VT ended up scoring in the final minute of the second overtime period.
Of note in the loss is the fact that the Eagles had to play the second overtime without star player McKenzie Meehan, who was injured at the end of the first OT.
The Eagles play again on October 15 at Wake Forest. Fans can watch the game live here.
