It has been one year, 10 months and nine days, or 679 days since the last time the Boston College Eagles football team last won an ACC playoff game. Boston College was unable to get off the schneid Friday night against No. 3 Clemson, as the Eagles fell listlessly to the Tigers 56-10 in front of a sellout crowd at Alumni Stadium, and a national audience watching on ESPN. The Eagles struggled to get things going offensively, with Patrick Towles held to just 91 yards in the air. BC’s defense also let up a season high 56 points, eclipsing the previous seasonal high-water mark of 49 points established in Blacksburg, Va., against the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Eagles will have the next week off, and then the Eagles will host the Syracuse Orange at the Heights, where the Eagles will once again look to win it’s first ACC contest in since the 2014 season.

There are quite a few Clemson fans here.

BC will wear red bandanna themed cleats to honor life of Welles Crowther, former BC lacrosse player for his heroic actions in 9/11 attacks. pic.twitter.com/xE7gc2I2FV

Rouse calls for a fair catch at the BC 47. Good starting field position for the Eagles' first drive.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 7, 2016
Towles avoids pressure as the Tigers brought a blitz up the middle, but he has to just throw it away. Knoll in to punt.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 7, 2016
Clemson muffs the punt, and BC recovers inside the Clemson 10!

They move Towles right, looking to hit the flat, but Clemson is all over it. Knoll now on to kick a short FG.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 7, 2016
Callinan had position in the end zone there
— ERIC HOFFSES (@EJHoffses) October 7, 2016
It's good, and the Eagles jump on top 3-0.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 7, 2016
Wayne Gallman breaks a tackle at the line, then turns on the afterburners for a 59-yard touchdown. After the PAT, Clemson leads BC 7-3.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 7, 2016
Aaaaand it's gahn
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) October 7, 2016
Well that was fun
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 7, 2016
Wow, Watson puts it on a rope to Mike Williams down at the BC 5. Heck of a throw, and a diving catch.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 7, 2016
Watson hits Williams on the fade for a 9-yard score.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
After the PAT, Clemson leads 14-3. Scoring drive was 6 plays, 70 yards in 2:11, highlighted by two big Mike Williams catches.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
How does one cover Mike Williams exactly?
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) October 8, 2016
Beating Clemson used to be within the realm of possibility. I swear, kids! It happened several times. /grandpa voice
— Joe Gravellese (@joegrav) October 8, 2016
Play action, and Jordan Leggett was WIDE OPEN down the seam. He then takes it all the way for a 56-yard touchdown.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
Clemson needs just 13:31 to cover the spread \o/ pic.twitter.com/aeaeSz9Bew
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
This is bad.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
This is embarrassing.
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) October 8, 2016
Two more touchdowns and I'm leaving this shitshow
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) October 8, 2016
Does Matt or Sarah Hasselbeck have eligibility left. I'll take either.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Boston College should just rehire Tom Coughlin. C'mon, how much fun would that be??
— Jim Weber (@JimMWeber) October 8, 2016
Wonder if someone has said this before https://t.co/yIhzypcP2y
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Towles keeps it for a 1st down. Honestly, they should just do that on every 3rd and 1. He's such a big guy.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
Jeff Smith gets the corner on the reverse, and finishes the run with a strong shoulder near the sideline. Gain of 26.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
Hey those were nice plays
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Don't look now but BC has something going here.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Unbelievable turn of emotions. Towles doesn't make it on 3rd and 1, loses the ball on 4th, but offsides gives BC new life.
— Michael Sullivan (@MichaelJSully) October 8, 2016
Towles doesn't get this one, either. Stopped at the one yard line. Clemson gets it back. #CLEMvsBC
— Michael Sullivan (@MichaelJSully) October 8, 2016
That was so predictable.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Can this game have a running clock
— Adam M (@adamar108) October 8, 2016
Towles scrambles and gets rocked. He fumbles & Clemson recovers. Flag comes in, and they call targeting on the Tigers. Play under review.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
Wow, they overturn the targeting, and the Clemson fumble recovery will stand.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
I give up.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
There's a small, but vocal contingent in the student section chanting "fire addazio"
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
BC had its chances in the second quarter, but couldn't capitalize.https://t.co/fUhHDbCyEk
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
My section has resorted to complaining about literally every call the refs make. Are wrong about almost everything they are bitching about
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) October 8, 2016
BC football hasn't been good since I joined @bcinterruption. Just saying.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
It hasn't been good since @CoachJags got fired. Join the club. https://t.co/JG0l6DnTAc
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
@arthurbailin @bcinterruption it hasn't been since I was a freshman. It's not you
— Rich Conboy (@SuavestofRicos) October 8, 2016
The exodus is beginning in the student section.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Watson hits Deon Cain for a 29-yard touchdown. He may have pushed off a bit, but honestly, Clemson is just rolling right now. 28-3 Tigers.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
Pathetic.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
ed. note:
Willis can't handle the kick cleanly, and he's dropped at the BC 6. This is less than ideal.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Watson throws the slant to Cain, who hits the circle button and spins back away from McClary for a 16-yard touchdown. 35-3 Clemson.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
Uncle?
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) October 8, 2016
Running clock. Running clock. Running clock.
— Adam M (@adamar108) October 8, 2016
Love Hilliman but Jones needs to start from now on #CLEMvsBC
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) October 8, 2016
Towles hits Bobby Wolford for a 2 yard touchdown. Hey, they got one in!
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
Did they really just set of fireworks lol
— Adam M (@adamar108) October 8, 2016
Hey guys, we got SIX (6) points for that TD!!! We should do more of those! #CLEMvsBC
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) October 8, 2016
Clemson scored. 42-10. Carry on with your lives. You clearly have more important things to do.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016

— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
They're showing the Hail Flutie on the scoreboard right now, because there must be a person here who doesn't know about it
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
At least last year's team had a good defense
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Am I seriously saying something good about last season in light of this season what the hell is going on in my life
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Why is Towles still out there? Why are we still running on first? Why am I sober enough to still text? SO MANY QUESTIONS! #CLEMvsBC
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) October 8, 2016
It is now 49-10. Thank you for your time.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
It is now 56-10. Fire Addazio.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
My English professor probably makes $2,000,000 less than Addazio, yet he's made life at BC more enjoyable than Addazio by a wide margin.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
Also, he's probably a better football coach.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 8, 2016
It's all over at Alumni Stadium, as Clemson runs away from BC.https://t.co/yrZjcewRoK
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 8, 2016
Best parts of this game:
— Adam M (@adamar108) October 8, 2016
1. When we were winning for like 2 minutes
2. Right now because it's over
