Women's Soccer Upsets FSU 2-1

FSU is currently the 2nd ranked team in the country.

The Eagles recovered from recent ACC struggles in a major fashion on Thursday night, defeat the #2 team in the nation. The Eagles defeated FSU 2-1 and are now 2-3-0 in the ACC and 10-3-1 overall. This is the first time BC has defeated FSU since 2012.

BC started off the scoring 15 minutes into the game. Lauren Berman scored a one-touch goal for her fourth of the season, putting the Eagles up 1-0.

FSU tied the game up 10 minutes later, one-timing a deflection into the net. At the half, the teams were knotted at one.

Hayley Dowd scored the winning goal at minute 57. This was Dowd's 7th goal of the season. She is now tied for second with Kristie Mewis on the team's all time scoring list.

As they have in most games this season, the Eagles outshot their opponents tonight. BC took 12 shots to FSU's 9, although the shots on goal tally was closer (5 to 4). FSU led in corner kicks with 6 to BC's 3. Both teams' goalies made 3 saves.

The Eagles play again on Sunday, when they'll face Virginia Tech at 1 PM in Newton.
