Boston College announced this afternoon that Coach York will miss Tuesday's hockey game at Merrimack for an outpatient eye procedure. Associate head coach Greg Brown will stand in for Coach York during tonight's game
York previously missed a chunk of games due to a pair of eye surgery in 2013 after suffering from a detached retina.
York will return to the bench as soon as possible and Coach Brown will lead the team in the meantime. Brown, a BC hockey alum that has coached for BC since 2004, has experience acting as head coach during York's previous absences.
In addition to tonight's game, the Eagles play twice this weekend. They host Providence at Conte on Friday at 6 PM and then head to UMass on Saturday for a 7 PM game. It is unknown whether or not York will recovered in time to return for either game.
Best wishes to Coach York on an easy procedure and speedy recovery!
