HALFTIME: Syracuse Leads Boston College 14-10

Specials teams and defense are keeping BC within striking distance.

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

It was a rough start for the Eagles in the second quarter, as Syracuse matched 80 yards in nine plays, culminating in a 10-yard touchdown pass from Eric Dungey to Ervin Phillips.

But, on the ensuing kickoff, BC senior Myles Willis returned it 89 yards for a score to pull the Eagles back within 4.

As the half went on, Syracuse would again threaten, but a sack by Zach Allen and Wyatt Ray forced the Orange to settle for a 40-yard FG attempt. That try would sail wide left, but BC would fumble the ball back to Syracuse three plays later.

The BC defense would hold strong for the rest of the half, but the Eagles clearly have some work to do in the second half.
