As the basketball season draws near, the preseason USA Today coaches’ poll has been released, and, to the surprise of no one, due to a rigorous ACC schedule, the Boston College Eagles will play many of the teams in the rankings.
The Eagles open the ACC schedule on Jan. 1 at home against No. 17 Syracuse, and travel to Syracuse on Jan. 14. In between the two games against Syracuse, the Eagles will take on preseason No. 1 Duke in Durham, N.C. on Jan. 7. Directly after the road game against Syracuse, the Eagles take on No. 7 Virginia at home on Jan. 18. The game after the Eagles take on Virginia, the Eagles will take on No. 6 North Carolina at home on the ACC Network on Jan. 21. The Eagles last game against a preseason ranked opponent is against Louisville, on Feb. 4 on the ACC Network.
Before the ACC slate starts, the Eagles, depending on their performance against Kansas State at the Barclays Center during the weekend following Thanksgiving, could potentially play No. 21 Maryland.
