CHESTNUT HILL, Mass- In front of a drenched and sparse Parents’ Weekend crowd at the Heights, Boston College bested the Buffalo Bulls 35-3. Despite the wet conditions, the Eagles offense shined, attaining 400 yards of offense on the day, including Patrick Towles 234 passing yards on the day. With the win, the Eagles are above .500 for the first time since Oct. 10, 2015, when the Eagles lost 3-0 to Wake Forest (sorry) to fall to 3-3 on the season. The Eagles lost six straight after the loss to Wake Forest to finish 3-9 on the season, and would not go above .500 again.
Jon Hilliman led all running backs with 54 yards and one touchdown. Jeff Smith had five receptions on the day for 65 yards. The Eagles next opponent will be current national championship runners-up, the No. 3 Clemson Tigers. The game will be held in the evening on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 PM.
Absolutely pouring out right now, going to be a miserable day for college football #BCEagles

It would take a lot of work, but I'm betting we have the worst tailgating hours in P5. Thoughts, @bcinterruption ?
— BCMike22 (@BCMike22) October 1, 2016
Honest question with this rain will BC throw a pass this game or nah?
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) October 1, 2016

Here's your weekly "it's 15 min til kick, where are all the fans?" picture. At least we can blame the awful weather this week. pic.twitter.com/BO2EFFECh6
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Can't really blame fans for staying home today, but make no mistake, this is a must-win for BC. Any bowl hopes go up in flames with a loss.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
@bcinterruption Live report from my parents that a "fair amount" of people are outside Alumni @bcatleagle
— Seth Andrew (@SethAndrewY) October 1, 2016
Ok guys, BC has won the toss and will receive. Let's get this thing going!
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
OH SWEET THREE AND OUT
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 1, 2016
That first drive was
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) October 1, 2016
True story, 2006 #BUFFvsBC The Swoon in the Monsoon was when Ms. Beakly stopped asking about going to games in Chestnut Hill @bcinterruption
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) October 1, 2016
Never really understood why the put the BC game on the out of town scoreboard.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 1, 2016
Because "#NotFromBoston" or something https://t.co/ivOqKYzQ3p
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) October 1, 2016
Is it only one one scoreboard? Pretty sure the city line goes through the stadium, so half of Alumni is technically out of town. https://t.co/ivOqKYzQ3p
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) October 1, 2016
Matt Milano flies in and blocks the punt. That's Milano's 3rd career punt block, and the Eagles take over at the Buffalo 41.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Oh sweet a blocked punt! Will we go
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 1, 2016
No room for Hilliman off the right side. Needed 4, got 1. 4th and 3. BC will go for it.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Predictable. So utterly predictable.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 1, 2016
I always have mixed emotions when BC makes a defensive stop because it means I now have to watch them try to play offense.
— Joe Gravellese (@joegrav) October 1, 2016
Buffalo stacks the entire defense in the box and Addazio still runs it. Gutless
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) October 1, 2016
Nothing builds on the momentum of a punt block like a 1st down run to nowhere #BUFFvsBC
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) October 1, 2016
@LukeBeakly correction, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down runs to nowhere @bcinterruption
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) October 1, 2016
UPDATE: and failed 4th down pass #RRRPTOD @bcinterruption
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) October 1, 2016
How we gonna start a drive on the Buffalo 40 and go 3 and out
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) October 1, 2016
BC offense 3 rushes and 1 pass on 1st down so far. Reported this week that 1st down is Towles most successful passing down
— ERIC HOFFSES (@EJHoffses) October 1, 2016
Off play action Towles hits Garrison for 44 yards. Actually under-threw him a bit, could've been a TD. Garrison still down on the field.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Oh no Chris Garrison
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) October 1, 2016
Looks like a significant leg injury, and they're gonna stretcher Garrison out.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Garrison is the toughest dude ever, barely grimaced the whole time despite having what looks like an awful injury.
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) October 1, 2016
Just kind of "caught the ball, hurt my legs guys can you assist thx"
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) October 1, 2016
They pitch it to Davon Jones, and he hits the circle button to spin back for his first career touchdown!
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
WOOOO
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) October 1, 2016
End of 1: BC leads Buffalo 7-0, and an injury update on Chris Garrison.https://t.co/6j5W5yw7QT

PSA: don't be that person who brings an umbrella. You're blocking the view of people six rows behind you.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 1, 2016
Towles buys some time, and eventually hit Charlie Callinan in the back of the end zone. Play is under review.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Ruling on the field stands, touchdown Eagles!
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Gotta say, other than the first drive I really haven't hated the play calling. The execution has been meh, but the calls have been solid
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) October 1, 2016
Towles loses the ball, and Buffalo has it. The Bulls will have 1st and 10 at the BC 11.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Oh no!
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) October 1, 2016
Ball broken up in the end zone by Milano, and the Bulls will have to settle for a field goal.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
It's good, & Buffalo is on the board. 14-3 BC
Buffalo with the old, 4-play, 0-yard, 17-second scoring drive.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Aka, great stand by the BC defense after a turnover.
Perfect throw by Towles to Walker for an 11-yd TD! Placed it just over the linebacker's outstretched finger tips. 21-3 Eagles.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
11-play, 84-yard drive there that ate up 6:07 of clock. Strong way to end the first half.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Today's attendance: 24,203.
— Michael Sullivan (@MichaelJSully) October 1, 2016
I miss the 2nd quarter. That was more enjoyable.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
BC now just a quarter away from victory, but things are far from perfect.https://t.co/nE48iJcQEz
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
And Hilliman powers his way in for the 1-yard touchdown run!
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
Jon Hilliman more like Jon Mountainousman amirite
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) October 1, 2016
28-3 BC after the Knoll extra point.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) October 1, 2016
8 play, 78-yard drive in 4:28. Sparked by Smith's 33-yard catch & run, culminated by Hilliman's 1-yd TD

Touchdown from Richard Wilson. Nice garbage time work there with Wade and Wilson.
— Michael Sullivan (@MichaelJSully) October 1, 2016
FINAL: Boston College 35, Buffalo 3. The Eagles match their win total from last season, with the defense's best performance this year.
— Michael Sullivan (@MichaelJSully) October 1, 2016
I'm sorry, did something happen in the BC football game? #lgm #yagottabelieve
