BCWH's Katie Burt Becomes Youngest & Fastest To 50 Wins In NCAA History
With Tuesday night's shutout win over Harvard, BC women's hockey's Katie Burt has set two major NCAA records.
At 18 years (!!) 358 days, Burt has become the youngest player in women's hockey history to reach 50 career wins, shattering the record previously set by Alex Rigsby of Wisconsin at 20 years 24 days.
Even more impressively, Burt also broke Rigsby's record of being the fastest to reach 50 wins, earning her 50th victory in her 55th career start with an absurd career record of 50-3-2. Rigsby's 50th career win came in her 58th start.
Burt's shutout of Harvard was her 9th of the season. She's now allowed 20 goals in 20 starts.
