Three Stars Of The Week: Zeiko Lewis Is #1 For Shredding UConn

Another week in the books

bceagles.com

We're on to week 4 of our weekly Three Stars voting and once again there are a number of worthy candidates. However, one did rise above the rest. Last week, Kam McLain of the women's volleyball team won first place in our staff vote, while Harold Landry topped the fan voting for the extra point in the year-long standings. On to this week:

#1 star. Zeiko Lewis, men's soccer: 16 points, 4 first place votes

Zeiko Lewis fueled the men's soccer team to a 2-0 week that propelled them in to the top 20 in the national rankings for the first time in several years. Lewis scored two goals and an assist in last week's romp over UConn, then followed it up with another assist in a big ACC win Friday night at Virginia Tech. Beating UConn is always worth votes in my book.

#2 star. John Johnson, football: 8 points, 1 first place vote

It's so difficult to hand out individual accolades to great defensive performances and yet there are so many Eagle defenders who deserve votes. John Johnson stood above the rest for his big interception as well as great coverage throughout the day against NIU.

#3 star. Katty Workman, volleyball: 6 points

Despite a tough weekend for volleyball featuring a pair of ACC losses, Katty Workman made headlines by setting BC's all-time kills record. Congrats to Katty on the accomplishment.

Honorable Mentions

t#4 Jon Hilliman, football - 5 points, 1 first place vote - for his impressive rushing performance Saturday. He'll be missed while he's out injured.

t#4 Connor Strachan, football -  5 points, 1 first place vote - another monster performance from Strachan.

#6 Gaby Carreiro, women's soccer - 4 points, 1 first place vote - scored the winning goal for BC women's soccer to defeat NC State last weekend

t#7 Emily McCoy, field hockey - 2 points - she scored again, because of course she did.

t#7 Don Brown, football defensive coordinator - 2 points - more plaudits for the defensive architect.
