Well, this is bad. One week after BC lost their starting quarterback for the season with an ankle injury, starting running back Jon Hilliman now has a broken foot, according to the Boston Globe's Michael Vega.
While there's no immediate timetable given for Hilliman's recovery, it's fair to assume that he will be out for a significant period of time, and possibly the rest of the season. This is a pretty devastating blow to a team with a run-first offense, particularly as Hilliman was beginning to find his stride and establish the power running game on Saturday (he could pretty much be credited with BC's passing touchdown on Saturday, as his power runs led to a wide open receiver on play action).
The good news is that BC is deep at running back and guys like Tyler Rouse, Myles Willis and Marcus Outlow should be able to pick up the slack. However, Hilliman is a huge part of the offense and losing him certainly alters expectations.
