Get to know Boston College's backup long snapper....

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Michael Fischer

Position: Long Snapper

Number: #56

Year: Junior

Height: 6-foot-0

Weight: 221 lbs.

Hometown: Wellesley, MA

High School: St. Sebastian

2013 Stats: Did not play.

2014 Projections: Did not play.

2015 Projections: Will again back up Leonard Skubal. Unless an injury befalls the starter, I imagine that Fischer will be on the two deep but probably won't see any playing time.

How'd He Get Here: Joined BC  as a recruited walk-on in September 2012 and redshirted.

Twitter Feed: You can follow Mike at @mfischer56

Tweetable: Mike doesn't tweet a lot of his own stuff, mostly retweeting what others put up. But if you really want to go old school, you can find some stuff he actually wrote:

Uniform History: Pete Cronan, an inside linebacker in 1977 wore #56, before he went on to become one of the radio announcers we here every week for Boston College football. Kevin Pearson, a very good linebacker wore the #56 during his times at the Heights in the early 90s. Current Boston College running backs coach and recruiting extraordinaire Al Washington wore it as a defensive tackle with the Eagles. Max Holloway a defensive end wore #56 before leaving the Eagles early for the NFL draft, a move that didn't seem to work out for him.
