It's a quiet weekend for Boston College sports, but the Eagles got some good news this weekend. A very highly touted 2017 recruit will be visiting the Heights this summer

Fred Hansard is a 4* defensive tackle attends the Hun School in Princeton, New Jersey who clocks in at 6'3 314lbs. As the tweet mentions he is also going to visit schools such as the Arizona State Sun Devils, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, North Carolina Tar Heels, Kentucky Wildcats and Michigan Wolverines. Just by looking at those other schools, you have to imagine that BC's odds are kind of low, but they do have one selling point the other schools do not. They are the closest school to Hansard's home.
BC could certainly use a big defensive tackle. Truman Gutapfel will be in his final year of eligibility, Noa Merritt will have be a junior, and Connor Wujciak and Mehdi Abdesmad will have graduated. The Eagles have limited depth coming up with Ray Smith being the lone defensive tackle from the Class of 2016. So possibly BC could also sell early playing time to Hansard as well.
Addazio hasn't been afraid of stepping up to the big boys, grabbing recruits like Jon Hilliman and Harold Landry away from SEC Powerhouses. Can he do the same with Fred Hansard? You can check out his highlights below:
