Three Stars of the Week: December 24

Alex Carpenter's two week winning streak is broken. Who is #1?

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

The other athletes of Boston College, no doubt clamoring for their chance to appear in the BC Interruption Three Stars of the Week, have finally figured out a way to beat Alex Carpenter: do noteworthy things on a week in which Carpenter is not scheduled to play. Good job by all. Who tops the list this week?

#1 Star: Eli Carter, Men's Basketball

The only three BC events this week of voting were men's basketball vs. Delaware, women's basketball vs. Lowell, and then Tuesday's MBB game vs. Fordham. Carter went in to the final day of games for the week as the likely winner after leading the MBB team with 20 points and a double-double against Delaware, then did enough in the Fordham game to retain the top spot, chocking up double digits in the team's win.

#2 Star: Jerome Robinson, Men's Basketball

Robinson had what was probably his best overall performance since maybe opening weekend against Fordham. Robinson led the way with 19 points, including a strong second half performance that helped seal the deal for the Eagles.

#3 Star: Colin White, men's hockey

Colin White gets the nod as the #3 star this week as he was named captain of the US World Junior team, set to begin play this Saturday against Canada. In the junior team's first warmup game, an exhibition against UMass, Colin White scored a goal as part of the US's 4-0 win.

Honorable Mentions

#4 Don Brown :( - It's important to note that the ballot included the sad face on it
#5 Idy Diallo - Diallo also had one of his better performances of the season against Fordham
#6 The entire women's basketball team - they've been too darn balanced to be able to single anyone out with Three Stars votes. The whole team is contributing. Hopefully they keep it going.
