December 7

NHL

Brian Gionta scored the first goal in the Buffalo / Vancouver game, but Buffalo would go on to lose 5-2. It was a weird, almost high-stick goal that came off of a Vancouver giveaway.

December 8

NHL

Patrick Eaves scored the first goal of the game for Dallas (and his first goal of the season).

Dallas went on to defeat Carolina in this game, but Noah Hanifin did contribute 2 assists to the Hurricanes offense.

Cory Schneider made 35 regulation saves for the Devil, but NJ went on to lose in the shootout.

AHL

Peter Harrold assisted on three of Chicago's five goals in their victory over Iowa.

John Muse made 27 saves for Texas, but his team lost to Rockford.

ECHL

Destry Straight assisted on two of Rapid City's seven goals in their victory over Wichita.

December 9

NHL

Brian Dumoulin, who has been showing off his offensive skills more often recently, picked up an assist on the Penguins last goal in their victory over the Avs.

AHL

Michael Matheson scored Portland's third goal in their 5-1 victory over Springfield.

ECHL

Barry Almeida took eight shots for Utah, but was unable to turn one into a goal.

December 10

NHL

Cam Atkinson scored two goal to try to lead a Columbus comeback, but his team lost to Winnipeg. Here's the prettier of the two goals - the second goal was a rebound with a lot of traffic in front of the net.

Johnny Gaudreau picked up an assist and the GWG in Calgary's 4-3 victory over Buffalo with a classic Johnny one-timer. After some early struggles, Calgary seems to have found their stride again - and more goals from Johnny Hockey can only be helping.

AHL

Bill Arnold scored Stockton's first goal in their win over San Antonio.

December 11

Cory Schneider made 27 saves to lead New Jersey to an OT victory over Detroit. Stephen Gionta assisted on NJ's first goal of the game.

Chris Kreider recorded a goal and an assist in NY's 7-5 loss to Edmonton. It almost looked like Kreids was going to pass the puck across the net to Kevin Hayes, but he snuck it past the goalie himself instead.

Brian Dumoulin picked up his second assist of the week in Pittsburgh's loss to LA.

AHL

Patrick Brown recorded an assist in Charlotte's victory over Texas.

Peter Harrold picked up 2 assists, bringing his weekly total to 5, in Chicago's loss to lake Erie.

ECHL

Steve Whitney picked up two assists in Norfolk's 6-1 win over Adirondack.

December 12

NHL

Kevin Hayes and Chris Kreider both picked up assists in NY's loss to Calgary. Kreider was also assessed a penalty for tripping Johnny Gaudreau.

Gaudreau had a 3 point game for the Flames, scoring two goals and assisting on the game winner. The first goal came unassisted off of a Rangers giveaway (as the announcers mentioned, Gaudreau is not the player to turn over a puck to). The second goal was a classic Johnny Hockey breakaway.

Cam Atkinson scored with a fast shot from the slot to tie the game for Columbus, but the Blue Jackets fell to the Islanders in OT.

AHL

Bill Arnold recorded an assist in Stockton's loss to Texas, while John Muse recorded 32 saves for the Stars to lead them to victory.

Joe Whitney picked up an assist in Bridgeport's loss to Hartford.

Philip Samuelsson picked up an assist in Springfield's loss to Lehigh Valley.

ECHL

Barry Almeida notched a goal and an assist in Utah's win over Alaska.

Nick Petrecki assisted on Elmira's first goal in their 4-0 blanking of Norfolk.

December 13

AHL

John Muse made 31 saves to help Texas beat San Antonio.

Brian Gibbons was involved in both of Hartford's goals in their loss to Providence. He assisted on the first and scored the second.

Joe Whitney assisted on a goal in Bridgeport's loss to Hershey.

ECHL

Steven Whitney assisted on three of Norfolk's six goal to help them defeat Brampton.

Parker Milner made 37 saves in Missouri's loss to Tulsa.

NWHL

Kelli Stack scored the shootout GWG to keep Connecticut's streak alive in a big victory over the Riveters.

CWHL

The lone Boston goal in their loss to Calgary was Erin Kickham from Megan Shea.

Other Stuff

Rob Scuderi was traded from the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Chicago Blackhawks on December 14.

9 current and former Eagles were named to the 2015 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp Roster.

Ben Smith has begun playing with the Barracuda (AHL) to ease his way back up to San Jose following concussion issues.

Allie Thunstrom picked up a goal and two assists in the Boston/Minnesota weekend series. The Whitecaps are independent, but they're playing NWHL teams.
