Here's a pleasant surprise: Chris Calnan, who suffered an upper body injury two weekends ago at UNH and was reported to be out for "significant time," has returned to practice - and according to the BC Hockey Blog, he could potentially play on Saturday.

He was in a non-contact uniform, so I wouldn't go penciling him in to the lineup just yet, but the fact that he's on the ice is a good sign. Even if BC wanted to hold him out a little while longer, they could certainly make it work. However, if he's fully healthy, it would be really helpful to have him back by the holiday tournament in Florida on Dec. 28 and 29, as the Eagles will almost certainly be without the services of both Colin White and Alex Tuch due to US national junior team duty.
