Saturday vs #5 Virginia
The Eagles took down ACC foe and #5 Virginia in a dramatic comeback overtime win on Saturday. Heading into halftime, BC was down 3-0 and had been outshot 15-8. The odds were not in BC's favor, but the Eagles mounted an enormous 4 goal effort to tie up the game 4-4. BC's goals were scored by Romee Stiekema, Brittany Sheehan, Kelcie Hromisin, and AshLeigh Sebia, with the last two goals coming in just the last 10 minutes of the game. The comeback was made possible by goalie Leah Settipane's 16 saves in regulation, which is her career high. The overtime period was a continuation of momentum for the Eagles as they outshot Virginia 2-0 and Emily McCoy went the length of the field to score the game winning goal just two minutes in. The overtime victory is possibly the biggest of the season for the Eagles and certainly the most dramatic.
Sunday vs Richmond
Boston College did not have much time to celebrate their victory as they faced another tough road test the very next day. This game was much less dramatic, however, as Brittany Sheehan scored a goal 17 minutes in to put the Eagles ahead. BC never looked back and controlled the game, winning 2-0 off a second half goal from Eryn McCoy. Star goalie Leah Settipane had a decidedly less busy day, as she only faced one shot on goal during the game. With the Eagles win and sweep on the weekend, they move to 10-7 on the season
Next up for Boston College is their regular season finale on Sunday, November 1st against Harvard. The game will be a good test for the Eagles as they head into the ACC tournament the next week.
