After the Eagles suffered a major hit on the recruiting trail with Kevin Marfo choosing G.W. over Boston College, the Eagles found some solace Saturday with the commitment of 2016 forward Mike Sagay.
Sagay is currently in his senior year at St. Thomas More. According to rivals.com, he flew under the radar somewhat due to a decision early in his high school career to not focus on basketball. He instead played football in the fall, thus causing him to miss out on AAU competition.
Sagay cited location as a significant factor in his decision to come to BC. He said that he wanted "to be somewhere where his family could see [him] play."
While Sagay is not on most recruiters' lists as someone to target (he doesn't even have a rivals page), scouts are saying that Sagay has the potential to blossom into "one of the best players in the New England Prep circuit."
The pickup is a welcome one for Eagles fans after Marfo's decision Friday.
