Boston College GIF of the Year: Hexadecafinals, Matchup #16

Four weeks of GIFs, and we're only through one round! In another four weeks, we'll have crowned the greatest GIF on the interwebs of all time of the 2014-2015 academic year.

It's the first year we've had 32 GIFs, and the result was that we had a lot of "non-traditional GIFs" to fill out the field. I think that's made it a stronger tournament, so we're actually having a tournament of "best GIF" instead of "best play."

Anyway, yesterday's matchup was a bit of an upset—which is appropriate, given that the winning GIF was an upset itself. Emilee Daley's three to send BC women's hoops past #13 Duke will advance to round two to play today's winner.

Let The Popcorn Fly

This GIF was nominated way back during the game's original writeup in the comments. It's not often an empty netter gets consideration, but it's a great clip: the puck goes in with all BC fans the in the frame and a popcorn tub goes flying in the celebration.

Tic Tac Toe

This is one of those "too easy" goals. Almost everyone gets into the act and the goalie doesn't have a change. It's a bit similar to last year's GIF finalist from the women's hockey team.
