Spots are still available for this weekend's 16th annual Kevin Eidt Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament.
The Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Kevin, an Honors Program computer science major in the Boston College Carroll School of Management class of 2000, who died of cardiac arrest while playing an intramural basketball game in his freshman year.
This year's tournament is on Sunday, September 28 at Wayland Country Club in Wayland, Mass. The golf outing is the primary funding source of an annual scholarship, currently worth $17,000 a year, in the CSOM Honors Program. The Fund also has a $2,000 annual award to the Emerging Leader Program.
The Fund has awarded over $270,000 in scholarship money to BC since 1999.
In addition to the usual golf fare and regular registration, the event has an auction which includes a BC-Clemson middle campus parking pass, a Lower Brighton pass for the last three games of the season and a pass for four to attend a live broadcast of NBC's Sunday Night Football Studio show in Stamford, Connecticut in October.
There's still room for about three more foursomes for this weekend's tournament. The Fund could also use additional raffle/auction items. If you are around for this weekend's Parents' Weekend game against Colorado State, we hope you'll consider attending the event to honor the memory of a fallen Eagle.
More information is available on the golf outing specific site or by contacting Kevin's brother Chris at cjeidt at optonline dot net.
