Advanced Hockey Statistics

I recently read this article

http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/08/09/nhl-brink-intelligence-explosion/rzB1N81iptBsR1NQkslbGM/story.html?p1=Article_InThisSection_Bottom

and It got me thinking about advanced statistics in the NHL and hockey in general. I was wondering if (since there really is not too much hockey talk this time of year) Joe and Grant might consider putting together an article on this topic? Maybe something that just covers some of the new statistics being utilized by teams and a little bit of an explanation on what they signify, how they are calculated, and how they can be used to help judge a player or construct a lineup would be possible. Or, if that might be a bit much, maybe those guys could just point us in the right direction towards the best places to go to read and learn about some of these new statistics. Either way, any help is appreciated!
