2014-2015 BC Hockey Schedule Nearly Complete

Others piece it together so you don't have to

Graham Beck, The Heights

As usual, Boston College is one of the last teams in the country to release its 2014-2015 men's hockey schedule. BC and UMass are the only two teams in Hockey East to not have their schedule out yet. But if you're looking to make your weekend plans to come to town to check out a game or two, most of the schedule can be figured out and pieced together based on what other teams have released. This is looking like the best home schedule in years for BC hockey fans.

While this is all unofficial, it seems like the only games we don't know for sure when they'll be are the two games against UMass. Games in italics are the ones I'm taking a guess with.

October

Sun 5th??? - Exhibition, against St. Francis? - most years, BC plays an exhibition game against a Canadian team, and it's usually on a Sunday. St. Francis and St. Thomas have been the two most common opponents. St. Thomas is booked on Saturday and Sunday; St. Francis is playing at UNH on Saturday ,but has no Sunday opponent yet

Fri 10th - at UMass-Lowell - this will be the season opener.

Sat. 11th???  - at UMass??? home vs. UMass??? - Per BU's schedule, UMass hosts BU on Friday the 10th, but nobody has UMass on their schedule on the 11th. Nobody has BC on their schedule on the 11th either. So this seems like a pretty good guess. If the game is at UMass, this means BC's home opener wouldn't be until October 24, which would be pretty late.

Sat 18th- at RIT, Blue Cross Arena

Fri 24th- Colorado College - possible home opener?

Sat 25th??? - UMass?? The Minutemen are away at Northeastern the night before and this is a mutual open date with the two schedules.

Fri 31st- at Denver

November

Sat 1st- at Denver

Wed 5th- at UConn, XL Center -- BC's first trip to play the Huskies will be on a Wednesday night, which, ugh.

Fri 7th- vs BU -- once again, BC and BU will square off very early in the season. This is three years in a row now and I still don't like it.

Tue 11th- Harvard -- the Crimson return to the home schedule after a hiatus.

Fri 14th- at Michigan State

Sat 22nd- Maine

Fri 28th- Minnesota -- the traditional Black Friday home game is one of the biggest home games in years.

Sat 29th- at Providence

December

Fri 5th- at UNH

Sat 6th- UNH - like last year, BC has an early December home-and-home with

Sat 13th- Michigan - unlike last year, the annual break doesn't start until a week later -- and it's another marquee home game to end the first half

January

Fri 2nd- Brown - Ledyard Bank Classic at Dartmouth - Throws candy at New Guy

Sat 3rd- Dartmouth - Ledyard Bank Classic at Dartmouth

Fri 9th- at Northeastern

Sat 10th- Northeastern

Fri 16th- at BU - in their infinite wisdom, Hockey East has scheduled a BC/BU game during student break

Sun 18th- at Maine - a Sunday day trip may be just the excuse I need to get back up to Orono

Wed 21st - Merrimack - I'm sure this game will be well attended. lolol

Sat 24th - UConn

Fri 30th - Providence

February

Mon 2nd - Northeastern - Beanpot

Fri 6th- at Merrimack

Mon 9th- BU/Harvard - Beanpot

Fri 13th- Vermont

Sat 14th- Vermont

Sat 21st- Lowell

Fri 27th- at Notre Dame

Sat 28th- at Notre Dame

March

Fri 6th, Sat  7th, Sun 8th - hockey East Octofinals (hopefully unnecessary)

Fri 13th, Sat 14th, Sun 15th - Hockey East Quarterfinals

Fri 20th, Sat 21st - Hockey East Semifinals and Finals, TD Garden (let's get back there this year eh?)

Fri 27th, Sat 28th, Sun 29th - NCAA Regionals (hopefully in Manchester or Providence)
