Boston College Football: Get To Know The Dudes - #37, DB Kam Moore

An exciting young player, could he find playing time this season?

BC Eagles Athletics

Name: Kam Moore

Number: #37

Position: Defensive Back

Height: 5-foot-11

Weight: 186 lbs.

Hometown: District Heights, MD

High School: Bishop Denis O'Connell

2013 Stats (HS): Earned VISAA All-State, second-team all-county and Second-Team All-WCAC honors in 2013 ... was also named to the Pre-Season MaxPreps Virginia All-State team ... concluded the 2013 season with 45 tackles, one sack, two fumble recoveries, 12 pass breakups and five interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns ... earned an All-WCAC Basketball Honorable Mention nod as well ... clocked at a 4.5 second 40-yard dash. 2014 Projections: I see the secondary depth chart as pretty fluid. Moore projects as a cornerback, given his size, which should be locked down by Dominique Williams and Bryce Jnes, but after that is anyone's guess. I could see Moore making the two deep especially if there is an injury, god forbid.

How'd He Get Here: Kam Moore is a 2* recruit from Maryland that chose the Eagles as his only offer.

What the Coaches See In Kam: "I talked with [BC assistant coach] Frank Leonard, who recruits this area, for a good bit and they kind of fell in love with Kam and his film," O’Connell Coach Del Smith said. "Don Brown likes height and Kam fits that bill, and once they saw what he could do at camp, he got that call with an offer."

Uniform History: The first Eagle to wear #37 was Frank Wilson a guard who wore it from 1920-23. David Couhig a guard from Beverly who was captain in 1930 wore it as well. Alex MacLellan an outside linebacker who was captain in 1974 wore the number as well. Most recently a group of scout teamers have had #37, but the last player who earned playing time was walk on Hampton Hughes.
