2014 All-ACC Team Announced: Andy Gallik Lone Boston College Player Selected

Nine Florida State players led the voting.

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

The All ACC team was announced this morning, and Boston College center Andy Gallik was the lone Eagle representative on the list. Gallik, a senior and named to the Rimington Award Watch List was named the All ACC as the center that included Cameron Irving (Florida State), Sean Hickey (Syracuse), Lakien Tomlinson (Duke) and Tre Jackson (Florida State).

Overall it was a Florida State lovefest as nine Seminoles were selected to the list. Of course Heisman Award winner Jameis Winston received the most votes, and he was joined by Groza Award winner Roberto Aguayo, tight end Nick O'Leary, WR Rashad Greene, RB Karlos Williams, and aforementioned Jackson and Irving on offense. Defensive end Mario Edwards and cornerback P.J. Williams also were on the list.

Other teams that had multiple selections including Duke with four players on the squad, followed by Clemson and Virginia Tech with three players each; Miami with two, and joining the Eagles Louisville, North Carolina, Syracuse and Virginia with one honoree apiece. Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, and Pittsburgh all were left off the list.

No surprise here really for Boston College, Andy Gallik has been the lone man that has been really getting any attention this preseason. I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the season if we see some other BC linemen on this list (maybe Ian Silberman or Harris Williams), and if Steven Daniels puts together a solid season, we may see him rise up in the voting as well.

Last season Kevin Pierre Louis was the lone representative for the Eagles. Congratulations to Andy for the honor. Go Eagles!
