Bovada released their annual football odds today and their take on Boston College is pretty grim. The online booking company has the Eagles at:
Boston College Regular Season Wins
Over 5 (+145)
Under 5 (-175)
I have already gone on record saying that I think BC will pull off six or seven wins this season even with the turnover on the roster. Looking at the matchups there are three out of conference games that they should win easily. Maine, UMass and Colorado State should be wins as long at the team performs as they should. From there the Eagles would only need to win three conference games to hit that mark and there are quite a few to pick from for a variety of reasons:
1. PIttsburgh Panthers - As I mentioned in my opponent preview, their offensive line is a mess, they have a new quarterback. Playing at BC under the lights, could be a win for the Eagles.
2. N.C. State Wolfpack - Don't care what the ACC media says, I'm not buying the Wolfpack this year. True this game is on the road, but a team that won exactly ZERO ACC games should be a team that BC should win.
3. Syracuse Orange - Home game. End of the season, team should be energized and hopefully clicking at that point. Plus Addazio said the Eagles get up for this rivalry. Revenge could be sweet.
4. Wake Forest Demon Deacons - They are going to be BAD this year. When your coach goes in front of the ACC media and says that the QB situation is "not very good," that shouldn't inspire much faith in your team.
5. Louisville Cardinals / Virginia Tech Hokies - You never know.
Just win three of those games and you have easy money in the bank. Think BC should be able to do that. BC's College Football Playoff National Championship odds are pretty bleak though at 500/1. So if you have money that you want to light on fire, you can certainly bet on the Eagles.
