Miles Wood Will Play At BC This Fall

The highly touted prospect will accelerate and attend Boston College this fall

J. Meric

In the words of a well known Boston College hockey blogger, "wowowowow." Miles Wood, a highly-touted prospect out of Noble and Greenough School, chose Boston College over Boston University earlier this year in a much-publicized recruiting battle. Since his commitment, the question has been whether Wood would enroll at Boston College in 2014 or 2015.

According to multiple reports, including that of Jeff Cox of SB Nation College Hockey, Wood will indeed enroll at BC this fall, adding his presence to a class of incoming forwards that includes Sonny Milano, Alex Tuch, and Zach Sanford. As Wood himself is a 2013 draft pick of the New Jersey Devils, this means the Eagles will be bringing in four forwards this year who are NHL draft picks. Not bad.

Wood is a powerful winger who projects to be a top-six forward at the NCAA level. Wood is 6'2'', 195 lb, and at the time of his commitment was rated the #1 uncommitted college prospect by Over The Boards.

This is excellent news for the upcoming season, and should help deal with the depth issues that could be caused by the departure of BC's entire first line.
