2014 FIFA World Cup: Boston College's Alejandro Bedoya To Start For USA

U-S-A! U-S-A!

Robert Cianflone

Big time match coming up this afternoon as the United States takes on Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal in a Group G matchup at the World Cup. On the line for the US? A win and they will advance to the knockout round. The big news for BC fans is that Alejandro Bedoya is back in the starting lineup.

Portugal is coming off a very disappointing opening matchup in which they were demolished by Germany 4-0. The Portuguese will be down a player as well as Pepe will miss the game due to a red card after he landed a headbutt on a German player. Ronaldo is also not at a 100 percent and missed large chunks of practice during the past week. The Portuguese are down but still a very dangerous team.

The U.S. is fresh off of this:

Is this the biggest game in US soccer recent history? Possibly.

This is your open thread for the game. Leave your thoughts/predictions/Portugal taunts during the game in the comment section. Grab a pint of your favorite ale and get ready. It should be a great game!
