Good morning. Happy Monday, and happy June. Back to the 5-day grind this week. To the news:

Mike Slive: If power leagues don't get more autonomy, the next move would be Division IV - College Football - Andy Staples - SI.com

(Outgoing University of Florida president) Machen explained on Friday why the five power conferences need more autonomy, why he's worried they won't get it and why things could get very messy if they don't. Then, minutes later, SEC commissioner Mike Slive fired a shot across the bow of the less wealthy schools by raising the specter of an NCAA "Division IV" made up exclusively of schools from the five wealthiest leagues.

US national team, World Cup player profile: Alejandro Bedoya | ProSoccerTalk

Starter or squad player at World Cup? Before the warm up games began, many would have thought Bedoya would be a squad player that would be one of the first names off the bench. However, Bedoya started against Azerbaijan in the recent tune up and showed some nifty runs and footwork both on the left and right flanks. His versatility could be key and the fact that he's a two-way player who doesn't mind tracking back means he could be a valuable asset in the starting XI.

U.S. midfielder Alejandro Bedoya persisted through troubled times on the club level and a prolonged national team absence before booking his ticket to Brazil.

In the NHL: if you're rooting for an Eagle to win the Stanley Cup this year, you'll have to root for the Rangers. Despite leading or being tied for the entirety of regulation, the Chicago Blackhawks lost to the LA Kings in a classic game 7, to wrap up a truly incredible series.
