Name: Manny Asprilla
Position: Corner Back
Number: #21
Year: Senior
Height: 5 foot 11
Weight: 178 lbs.
Hometown: Everett, MA
High School: Everett
2013 Stats: Manny Asprilla was possibly BC's strongest CB in 2013. He finished the season 4th on the team in tackles with 68 (55 solo), two interceptions, six pass break ups, a forced fumble and a blocked kick against Maryland.
2014 Projections: If BC is going to have a shutdown corner this year (and I'm not sure they will) it will be Asprilla. While he is far from perfect, he is still the best cornerback on the team. In a defense that stresses pressure, I would expect Asprilla to have an even bigger this year in terms of interceptions, but also a few plays to occur when he gets left alone and gets burned. Part of the double edged sword of Don Brown's defense.
How'd He Get Here: Asprilla was a 2* recruit via Rivals that chose Boston College with no other listed offers.
Twitter Feed: None that I can find.

Uniform History: The first African American to play for Boston College, Louis Montgomery wore #21 on the way to helping BC contend for the National title in the late 1930's-early 40's. Kick returner/half back Tyrone Taylor wore it during the Doug Flutie years in 85/86. DB Trevor White wore the number from 1999-2002. Cornerback Brad Mueller wore the number in 2006, Razzie Smith wore it in 2007.
