Boston College Football: USC Game Scheduled For 8pm Start

Game is set to air on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2

Boston College will be facing off with college football powerhouse USC in primetime on September 13th. According to Boston College Football News on Twitter:

The Eagles already have one evening game scheduled the weekend before, the Friday night ACC opener against Pittsburgh (7 PM, ESPN). This early pairing of night games is interesting because BC is usually slotted at the noon/one p.m. slot due to the unattractiveness of the team. Obviously having a night game for the Eagles is good news for the program, as it will get the Eagles seen on one of the big ESPN related networks. That is a bonus for exposure of the program, especially for recruits.

What network this game shows will most likely be dictated on how the two teams start the season. If BC comes out firing, whoops UMass and beats Pittsburgh, while USC gets by Stanford, the Trojans could be a Top 25 team. Other big games this week that could push BC to ESPN2 will be Georgia-South Carolina, UCLA-Texas, and Iowa State-Iowa.

Night games have also been events that Brad Bates and BC Athletics have used to add a little something extra to the game experience. In 2012 Alumni Stadium was lit up with fireworks against Notre Dame and in 2013 against Wake Forest we got the opportunity to meet Welles the Eagle, BC's live mascot. Who knows what the school will have in store for this game?

Last year BC faced off against USC in Los Angeles and got spanked 35-7. Hopefully a night time atmosphere at Alumni Stadium will give the Eagles the chance to pull off the win this season.
