Boston College Football Recruiting: RB Jordan Gowins Commits To Eagles

New York all purpose back

Time for some good news. Boston College received some of it yesterday as New York running back Jordan Gowins committed to the Eagles. The St. Anthony's junior all purpose back went to Twitter yesterday to confirm it and show off his new profile picture:

Gowins is rated as a two-star back according to Rivals and not rated on 247. The running back claims offers from Toledo and Stony Brook as well as interest from Florida State, Maryland, Penn State and Rutgers. The junior is 6-foot and 200 pounds and according to his HUDL page, runs a 4.48 40-yard dash. His primary recruiter was Al Washington.

Watching his film Gowin strikes me as a bruising running back; the type that won't shy away from contact and will run over defenders with good size. His speed isn't shabby, but at this point he doesn't have elite speed like a Sherm Alston or Jonathan Hilliman. Given the cadre of running backs BC already has on the roster, Gowins will be a serviceable change of pace back.

You can see his HUDL films here.

Jordan is the sixth recruit in the 2015 class. Welcome to the Heights Jordan!
