Boston College Football Recruiting: OT John Phillips Commits To Eagles

New York Tackle becomes the fourth commit in this year's class.

Rivals website EagleAction reported today that New York tackle John Phillips has committed to Boston College.

Phillips comes from Syracuse, New York, where he attended Christian Brothers. The 6'6 offensive tackle is more of an under the radar recruit right now, as BC is his only offer, and he doesn't appear in many of the recruiting wires don't have him yet in their databases. He seems to have the frame to be a good BC tackle (he's 6'6), but at 245 lbs he is going to need to put on a lot of weight in the next few years.

Again not much out there on this kid, but he's the third offensive lineman that Steve Addazio has grabbed already in this recruiting class. And with 4* OT Steven Gonzalez on campus this weekend, it is clear that building a huge line with talent is going to be a point of emphasis moving forward.

You can see John's highlight film below. It has good information on his strength and reach, etc if you are into that sort of stuff. John was selected to all Central New York team last year, and was also selected to an all league team his past two seasons.

Welcome to the Heights John!
