College Hockey News: Three Things I Think: Hockey East, Feb. 24, 2014
Notre Dame is waking up
When Notre Dame returned from a weekend with New Hampshire two weeks ago, the Fighting Irish were in especially strange place. UND is among the most talented teams in the country. Jeff Jackson is a truly great hockey coach. And the team hadn't really looked especially bad at any point in the season. Even with some bad losses on its resume, the Fighting Irish passed both the eye and numbers tests. They just couldn't string any wins together.

Lowell's improbable tie vs. Eagles ‘felt like a win'
If there is one team you don't want to fall behind to these days, it's Boston College. The No. 1 Eagles held the often-potent Lowell offense off the board for five periods of hockey this weekend. But an explosive third period on Saturday at home for the River Hawks earned them a point.

McNelis: BC Women 'Out for Wins'; Big Week Ahead (Lacrosse Magazine)
Coming off of these three huge wins is exciting. However, we have a very big week ahead of us. On Wednesday, we take on new ACC member, Syracuse, and on Saturday we take on the University of Connecticut. We were unable to secure victories against both of these teams last year, but we are out for wins this season. The trust and chemistry our team has this year is the best that it has ever been. BC will be ready physically and mentally to bring our best game forward against Syracuse and UConn.

Eagle in Atlanta -- atleagle.com: Coaching Profiles: Tod Kowalczyk
Before BC played Toledo this season, I had never heard of Tod Kowalczyk. And frankly after the Rockets won, I still wasn't concerned with their coach. My focus was more on BC's shakey start. Two months later, the BC season is even worse and Kowalczyk has put together the best season of a quietly respectable head coaching career.
