In the yearly tradition of measuring recruits and trying to figure out who will become a better draft pick, the NFL Combine began this weekend. Over the weekend we saw offensive linemen, wide receivers, quarterbacks, punters/kickers and running backs participate in a variety of workouts. Representing Boston College, both Matt Patchan and Andre Williams worked out for scouts, and according to their results, they kicked some butt.
Matt Patchan went on Saturday, and jumped up many boards after running a 4.81 40, good for 4th overall for offensive linemen. Patchan also came away with the best score on the Vertical jump, with a 33.5 jump, a whole 1.5 inches better than any other linemen.
Andre Williams had a lot to prove as well. After injuries hurt BC in their bowl game against Arizona, and missing the Senior Bowl, Williams needed good times on his run and that is exactly what he did. He ran a 4.54 on his 40, which is great for a power back, a 38.0 on the vertical jump (good for 4th), and 10'9 on the broad jump (3rd). Mike Mayock has AW as his fourth overall running back in the draft, while some online scouts were raving:
Andre Williams put a show during testing at #BostonCollege and his agility number show it.. Crazy numbers for such a big back

We will keep you up to date if any more news comes out of the combine. Kevin Pierre Louis and Kasim Edebali are still scheduled to work out. Go Eagles!
Update 4:43pm: Kaleb Ramsey had the most bench press reps for defensive linemen with 36.
