It's game day, Eagles! One more game in 2014.

Boston College faces the Penn State Nittany Lions (6-6, 2-6 Big Ten) in the 2014 New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday, December 27 at 4:30 p.m. at Yankee Stadium in New York City. This will be the Eagles' (7-5, 4-4 ACC) first appearance in the Pinstripe Bowl. The game will be televised by ESPN and ESPN Radio. Bob Wischusen and Matt Millen are on the call. The Boston College IMG Sports Radio Network will also carry the game.

Penn State comes into the matchup with a record of 6-6 (2-6 Big Ten) and has lost six of its last eight games after starting the year 4-0. The Nittany Lions will be making their first bowl game appearance since 2011. First year coach James Franklin is 6-6 with the Nittany Lions after spending the last three seasons with Vanderbilt (24-15 overall, 11-13 SEC).

The Eagles (7-5, 4-4 ACC) are bowl-bound for the second straight year under Steve Addazio. Last year, BC fell to Arizona in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl, nee Independence Bowl, in Shreveport. Addazio is 14-11 overall and 8-8 in the ACC in two years on the Heights.

This will be the 24th meeting between the two long-time Eastern independents. Penn State owns a 19-4 edge in the all-time series, but has dropped each of the last three to the Eagles. Boston College is 13-10 (.565) in postseason games, the fourth best mark among ACC teams.
