On the bright side, the volleyball team had a good weekend, beating Bryant, Fairfield and Hampton in the "BC invitational." I'd love to make some sort of BC Hockey / Frozen Four / BC Invitational joke, but it's not coming to me.

I don't know if I can remember a year where there will be so many individual battles for lineup spots October 10th @ Yost Ice Arena. I mean in reality, I think only 7 guys- Johnny G, Arnold, Hayes, Matheson, Smith, Macleod, and Brown are set in stone to start next month. So, let's take a look at the battles taking place.

The BC defense has made all of these leaps with essentially the same players it had last season. The Villanova and Wake Forest offenses weren't particularly potent, but even considering sample size and opponent, it would be difficult for this defense to have improved any more than it has.
