The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead and led 2-1 into the 86th minute but were unable to hang on, and the Dartmouth Big Green scored in double overtime to give the men's soccer team their second straight loss. They are now 1-2-1 on the season after starting strong in their first two games. On Saturday night, BC travels to Pittsburgh for their first ever ACC matchup against the Panthers.

Diego Medina-Mendez and Nick Butler scored the goals for BC, while freshman and capped Bermudian international Zeiko Lewis notched an assist.

Kiffin's decisions are failing USC (ESPN)

When judging Kiffin, that is what matters: The concrete decisions he makes and the real-world results of those decisions. It's not about folks who have never talked to him one-on-one judging his personality or character. It's not about the perception that he's smug or hasn't paid his coaching dues. Forget perception and personality. It's about results.

Boston College defense shows its talons (The MetroWest Daily News)

A year ago, the Boston College defense was in tatters. As the Eagles limped to a 2-10 record, one that got coach Frank Spaziani fired less than 24 hours after the final game and Steve Addazio hired shortly thereafter, the defense, once the centerpiece of teams that routinely won nine games and at one point won eight straight bowl games, deteriorated.

We're not last! We're not last!

11. Boston College (2-0, 1-0): Through two weeks, it's clear the hire of Steve Addazio has made a big difference in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles have already matched their win total from last season (two), and both sides of the ball are improved. The offensive line has made major strides since 2012, and running back Andre Williams has back-to-back 100-yard efforts. Defensive coordinator Don Brown was one of the offseason's top assistant hires, and the Eagles have allowed only 24 points through three games.

Commentary: Little risk in Frozen Fenway III, but will it cost Hockey East in the end? (USCHO.com)

Boston College and Notre Dame might make ticket sales easy for the first week of Frozen Fenway games. The question mark might be Frozen Fenway's second week. Massachusetts-Lowell, fresh off its first Frozen Four, will face Northeastern in the opening game, while BU and Maine make up what is considered the marquee game in the nightcap. The Terriers-Black Bears rivalry was strong in the 1990s, but using them as the calling card still might not be enough to fill the ballpark.
