Boston College Football: Ian White & Kasim Edebali Named Captains

The two seniors were chosen for their leadership in the locker room.

Greg M. Cooper-US PRESSWIRE

Boston College head coach Steve Addazio named his 2013 captains today. The two players he chose were defensive linemen Kasim Edebali and offensive lineman Ian White. Both are seniors, and both have been noted to be great leaders in the locker room.

BCEagles.com gives a break down for both players:

Edebali, a 6-foot-3, 246-pound product of Hamberg, Germany, has played in 36 games along the defensive line in the last three seasons (20010-12). He has recorded 99 tackles, including 53 solo stops and 9.5 tackles for loss. Edebali earned a bachelor's degree in communications with a concentration in Germanic studies in May 2013.

Edebali played two years at Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire as part of the USA Football International Student Program prior to his arrival at Boston College.

White, a 6-foot-5, 302-pound product of Conway, N.H., has played in 34 games along the offensive line in the last three seasons. He registered nine starts at right guard as a junior in 2012. He earned a bachelor's degree in human development from the Lynch School of Education in May 2013.

Congratulations to both Ian and Kasim on this honor. Hopefully they both continue to be leaders, and have a strong season on the field as well.

Kickoff is in less than a week. Anyone else really excited?
