#ACCKickoff Notebook - Atlantic Players (ACC Sports Journal)
The good news for Rettig is that this season he’s not entirely starting from scratch. Day has been part of the Boston College coaching staff since 2005. “He was a receivers coach, so obviously we had a relationship. He’s also the person who called the plays on the sidelines,” Rettig said. “My freshman year, he was always pushing me. He really thought highly of me, so obviously I respect him a lot. I think it’s been a good relationship.”
Syracuse, Boston College set to renew old Big East rivalry in new-look ACC (The Daily Orange)
“It’s been a traditional rivalry game,” Addazio said. “When I coached at Syracuse it was a big rivalry game and it will be again because geographically you’re tied.” Addazio mentioned the abundance of Syracuse alumni in Boston and said that many people have ties to both schools. Syracuse was picked to finish sixth in the Atlantic Division, one spot in front of Boston College.
Boston College Football Preview (SCACCHoops.com)
There will be some definite growing pains in year one of the Steve Addazio era. The transition to a more run oriented offense will take some time, and who knows how well it will work given the lack of success BC had running the ball last year. It might behoove Addazio to throw the ball a little more this year than he would normally with what's on the roster. I do think the defense will be better this year, but I don't think they will be better than the 2011 defense that allowed around 23 points per game. The Eagles will win more than the two games they won last year, but given the tough schedule, I don't think they will get to a bowl game. I think they'll win four or five games this year.

Big 12 to show live conference highlights in-stadium (SBNation.com)
Smart. Anything to enhance the in-stadium experience would be a welcome and needed change. The ACC should look to do something similar. Boston College would need to upgrade the Alumni Stadium jumbotrons first though.
FBS “Super Division” Split Could Happen as Soon as 2014, According to John Swofford (The Big Lead)
Hear that? That's the sound of Cincinnati and Connecticut fans gently sobbing in the corner.
College football countdown | No. 45: North Carolina (USA Today)
The first half may be tough, but the second half is smooth and easy. Look for the Heels to win at least four of six from Boston College through Duke. How about six of six? Yeah, that's a very realistic possibility.
