Just as we thought the day couldn't get any crazier, it has. Boston College has grabbed its second commitment of the day this time from tight end/defensive lineman Joe Vitiello. The Somerville, NJ native is considered the 25th best prospect in the state.
The 6-foot-5, 255 pound Vitiello from Immaculata chooses Boston College over Buffalo, Connecticut, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Florida, Temple and Tulane. Though he has yet to say it, rumor is that Vitiello will be playing defensive tackle for BC. Clearly huge news given the lack of roster depth at the position following the departure of Max Ricci.
Boston College also does not have any defensive tackles committed in the 2014 class yet, so Vitiello would be the first. He is going to need to definitely add some bulk though if that is the position he is going to play.
You can follow Vitiello on Twitter @JoeVit85. Welcome to the Heights, Joe!
