I don't get this story, but it doesn't paint BC and former coach Tom O'Brien in a very good light. Had Jo-Lonn going to Syracuse, would he have even caught on at the next level? Syracuse football went 19-40 from 2003-2007 ... 8-26 in a week Big East, including 0-7, 1-6 and 1-6 seasons in what would have been Dunbar's final three years.

Pirates catcher Tony Sanchez, the fourth overall pick in the 2009 MLB draft, made his big-league debut yesterday as a DH against the Angels. His first plate appearance came with two outs in the second inning, and it was especially memorable. Neil Walker was on first and Joe Blanton was pitching. Sanchez drove a 2-1 pitch to right field. The ball got stuck in the fence.

On Saturday, the Eagles raced in four events. The Elite 4- (A) crew recorded the closest race of the day against Tideway Scullers, who won with a time of 6:06. The Elite 4- (B) raced put up a good fight, but lost to Cambridge University, who registered a time of 6:01. The Senior 8+ raced strong, especially in the first 250 meters, but lost to University College Dublin. The Elite 2- raced against Newcastle University, who won with a time of 7:04.
