Congratulations to the Boston College women's lacrosse team, which earned an at-large bid to this year's NCAA Tournament. The Eagles will play Dartmouth in the first round on Friday at 4 p.m. at No. 4 seed Syracuse's Carrier Dome. #rivals
The winner of the first round matchup will play the Orange on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
This year marks the Eagles' second ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. In 2011, BC lost to second-seeded Northwestern, 11-8, in a first-round matchup in Evanston. The Wildcats would go on to capture the 2011 title, edging Maryland 8-7 in the title game.
If history is any guide, the Eagles will have an uphill battle with the Big Green. BC is just 1-10 all-time against Dartmouth, having lost each of the last ten meetings. The Eagles lone win over Dartmouth came in the first year of the program, a 14-4 victory on April 15, 1992. The last meeting between the two teams came in 2007, a 13-9 Dartmouth win.
This year's championship is the first time that 26 teams will compete in the tournament. The top eight seeds host first and second round games with the top six teams receiving byes. Complete tournament bracket below.
Go Eagles!
