On Friday, the Tulsa World's Kelly Hines compiled the list of college football head coaches in order of the number of followers on Twitter. First year Boston College football head coach Steve Addazio ranked 67th of the 87 coaches that use Twitter with 2,283 followers (as of last Wednesday afternoon).
The only ACC coach with fewer Twitter followers is fellow first-year Syracuse coach Scott Shafer. Addazio even ranked one spot below his replacement at Temple, Owls head coach Matt Rhule. This cannot stand.
I like the fact that Addazio is on Twitter -- a welcome change from the previous coaching staff -- but feel he could do a bit more with the account. Free marketing for the program. Though I suppose it's a step in the right direction. In addition to Addazio, several Boston College football assistants are also on the social media platform. Give them a follow.
