Eagles football opens up spring football today leading up to the annual Spring Game on April 20.

Greg M. Cooper-US PRESSWIRE

Boston College spring football begins today leading into the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 20 at 1 PM. Here's what you need to know about the 2013 Eagles.

The particulars:

Is the spring roster out?

Yes, yes it is. The program recently published an updated spring roster on bceagles.com. There is a total of 80 roster players heading into spring ball, not including this year's incoming recruiting class.

Breakdown by class: Seniors 15 (18.8%), Juniors 29 (36.3%), Sophomores 22 (27.5%), Redshirt Freshmen 14 (17.5%)

By position: wide receiver / tight end 17, offensive line 15, defensive back 12, defensive line 11, linebacker 11, running back / fullback 5, punter / kicker 4, quarterback 4, long snapper 1

And by state OR province: Massachusetts 21 (26.3%), New Jersey 12 (15%), Ohio 7, Pennsylvania 6, Florida 5, Illinois 4, New York 4, Connecticut 3, Virginia 3, Quebec 2

Any grey shirts?

Doesn't look like it. No one in the incoming class is listed on the spring roster.

What about the status of Kaleb Ramsey?

Ramsey is listed on the spring roster and looks like he's been granted a sixth year of eligibility.

Forget about sixth year guys ... any fifth year seniors?

Only a couple this year. Eight to be exact -- DE Kasim Edebali, TE Mike Naples, QB Mike Marscovetra, K Nate Freese, OG Ian White, WR Johnathan Coleman, FB Jake Sinkovec and RB Rolandan Finch. That means RB Mike Javorski and QB Dave Shinskie's careers on the Heights are now over.

When will the spring game be held?

Saturday, April 20, 1 PM at Alumni Stadium.

When is Boston College's Pro Day?

That would be tomorrow, March 20. The following Boston College players will participate: LB Nick Clancy, OT Emmett Cleary, TE Chris Pantale, OT John Wetzel, WR Donte Elliott, LS Sean Flaherty, P Gerald Levano, WR Colin Larmond Jr., and DT Bryan Murray. In addition, former Eagles TE Lars Anderson, WR Ifeanyi Momah and DB Jim Noel will also participate.

Hoping a few of these guys can catch on at the next level but this looks like it'll be another OL show between Cleary and Wetzel.
